HEC-Paris, Sustainable Development Conference

Download the Conference Brochure

On the 13th and 14th of September 2007, HEC-Paris will host the 4th annual Sustainable Development Conference in the HEC campus.

The emphasis this year is in the “positive power of business”. Thousands of small or large businesses have adopted the concept of Sustainable Development in various forms. These companies have an immense potential in bringing about tangible results, by utilizing their leverage and power. However, the task is daunting and a lot of uncertainty and skepticism remain in the society and the media: Will business leaders, present and future, be given a powerful mandate for change that is capable of delivering a more sustainable world?

The conference will focus on three main aspects: new energies, business conduct and the role of media and society. In approaching those topics, participants will provide and share their reflections on actual problems and opportunities to be addressed in future terms. We are inviting students from the top Business Schools of Europe to this event to discuss and share their ideas and views on these topics with the panelists and business leaders.

This year we have invited Ray Anderson (founder and chairman of Interface, Inc) amongst our keynote speakers. We have also invited business leaders and intellectuals from the World Bank, UNESCO, UNICEF, multi national companies, media, social incubators and social entrepreneurs.

This event is a forum to expand the perspective of the participants, students and executives alike, through focused and targeted interactive sessions. We warmly welcome you to actively contribute and learn how to embrace the positive power of business.
