HEC Responsible Business Conference

On the 11th and 12th of September 2008, HEC-Paris will host the 5th annual Responsible Business Conference on the HEC campus.

Corporate sustainability is undergoing transformation. Previously the purview of specific individuals acting independently of the corporation, sustainability has now attained a level of political and societal momentum that demands a more integrated and aligned approach. Yesterdayfs social philanthropy is being supplanted by diverse and decentralized approaches as corporations come to recognize the potential for long-term value creation and competitive advantage in applying sustainable business practices. The successful implementation of sustainability in this new business environment will require knowledge and leadership from managers at all levels and across all functions of an organization.

This year's annual HEC Paris Responsible Business conference features an innovative format with a structure that embodies the conference theme. The conference structure reflects the weaving of sustainability into all aspects of business. The program will be organized into thematic tracks dealing with energy, Millennium Development Goals and social responsibility, but will also allow for people to consider these sustainability issues from financial, strategic, entrepreneurial and marketing perspectives. The two-day conference will bring together leading professionals, academics and students from around the world to share lessons-learned, present innovative ideas and prepare future leaders to manage the changing business environment.

Speakers for the conference include Pascale Thumerelle, VP of Sustainable Development at Vivendi, Emmanuel Faber, COO of Groupe Danone, Clara Gaymard, President of GE France, Guy Roussel, President of Ericsson France as well as representatives from LfOccitane Foundation, Veja, SustainAbility, Deloitte, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Partners in Change, Business Leaders Initiatives on Human Rights, UNI Global Union, Aloe Private Equity, Rhodia Energy, Air Liquide and many more !
